Hi I’m Catherine, and I am a fully qualified and insured ‘Coach in Running Fitness’ through England Athletics, I am also a RunTogether coach.
In 2005 I had the crazy idea to run The London Marathon for a charity close to my heart. Having not run since school I joined my local Running Club in the summer of 2006 with a view to actually start to train and hopefully get some structure in my running. In 2007 my dream came to fruition and I completed my first marathon- The London Marathon.
I have been a qualified active coach for over 10 years and have gained a huge amount of experience coaching a broad spectrum of people, from beginners to elite athletes. In 2016 I was honoured to be nominated for the Shepway Sports Trust Coach of the year and shortlisted in 2019.
I am the lead coach and key committee member for my local running club and hold a very active and supportive role within the club.
I love working with individuals on a 1-2-1 basis, giving support, advice through the tough times (there will be some!) and sharing my experience.
I have run 13 Marathons and each one a very different experience! I regularly compete in races throughout the year across different distances and disciplines including competing in the Kent Cross Country League, this helps me stay sharp and motivated.
I have learnt over the years there are no shortcuts, to get the best results you have to put the work in to reap the rewards. Running is a state of mind, you can do anything that you put your mind to.
